abstract

objective: in this survey, we have checked the effects of natural (red bell pepper and tomato) and synthetic (astaxanthin and β-carotene) pigments on bloods factors of flower horn (cichlasoma sp.). methods: five treatments (three replicates/treatment) were employed. fishes were separated in fifteen equal groups and were fed for eight weeks with diets containing10 g kg–1 red bell pepper and tomato and 100 mg kg-1 astaxanthin and β-carotene. at the end of trial blood samples were taken from 5 fish that caught randomize by cutting the caudal stem. results: results of blood factors showed there is significant differences between wbcs, rbcs, hb, hct and lymphocytes between treatments (p0.05). the results showed that the use of red bell pepper in diets for flower horn is effective and profitable in its ration.

The study of synthetic and natural pigments on the colour of the Albino Oscar

In this study, we have investigated the effects of mix of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) & Carrot) Daucus carota ( and red Bell pepper )Capsicum annuum( as a natural pigment source and astaxanthin as synthetic pigment sources on the skin colour of cichlid fish (Astronotus ocellatus sp., Agassiz, 1831), which are generally white with red patches in the dorsal skin. The fish were fed diets contain...

Influence of Yellow Light-Emitting Diodes at 590 nm on Storage of Apple, Tomato and Bell Pepper Fruit.

The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of irradiation from light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on several fruits during storage. To improve storage and increase the contents of some bioactive compounds, apple, tomato and red bell pepper fruits were exposed to yellow light emitted from the diodes at 590 nm. The contents of ascorbic acid, total phenolics, total flavonoids and several ...

Cerebrosides in Mature-green and Red-ripe Bell Pepper and Tomato Fruits

Almtract--Cerebrosides (CBs) isolated from pericarp lipids of green and red bell pepper and tomato fruits were separated by a new HPLC method into/> six components. HPLC profiles were similar for the two fruits and changed little with ripening. CB 1 was the major peak, CB 2 was found only in bell pepper, and CBs 4, 5 and 6 were more abundant in pepper than in tomato. Total CBs and HPLC CB fract...
